 LASU’s 28th Convocation: 192 Bag First-Class Degrees A total of 192 students will graduate with First-Class honors as Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, holds its 28th convocation ceremony. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello announced this on Thursday during a press briefing at the university’s Senate building. She revealed that out of 8,711 first-degree graduates, 192 earned First-Class, while 3,076 finished with Second-Class Upper Division. Additionally, 4,397 secured Second-Class Lower, 990 earned Third-Class, and 39 graduated with a pass. Olatunji-Bello named Nwosu Isioma Sybil of the Biochemistry Department, with a CGPA of 4.93, as the overall best-graduating student for the 2023/2024 academic session. Among the 2,235 postgraduate students, LASU will award 302 postgraduate diplomas, 1,132 academic master’s degrees, 639 professional master’s degrees, 125 Ph.D.s, and 37 professional doctorates.  GOVERNOR UZODIMMA RECOGNIZED BY NAHCON FOR COMMITMENT TO RELIGIOUS INCLUSIVITY 



Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State was honored with an Award of Excellence by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) during his visit to the Hajj House for his commitment to religious inclusivity. 


In his reaction, Governor Uzodimma extended his gratitude to the Chairman of NAHCON, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, and the entire commission for recognizing the efforts of his administration in promoting unity among diverse religious communities. 


As the 2024 Hajj season approaches, Governor Uzodimma reiterated the state's intensified collaboration with NAHCON to support and facilitate the spiritual journey of Muslim brethren. He assured the public of the government's unwavering resolve to promote inclusivity and unity through governance.
