 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS MINISTER OF STATE FOR PETROLEUM RESOURCES (GAS) AS CO-CHAIRMAN OF NCDMB GOVERNING COUNCIL In line with his avowed commitment to establish a more efficient, targeted, and consistent approval process for unique oil and gas projects in the country, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), as the Co-Chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB). This is also to further ensure effective oversight of the gas aspect of the nation's assets. The President remains committed to unlocking Nigeria's immense gas potential to stimulate industrial development, job creation, and sustainable economic growth.  GOVERNOR UZODIMMA RECOGNIZED BY NAHCON FOR COMMITMENT TO RELIGIOUS INCLUSIVITY 



Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State was honored with an Award of Excellence by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) during his visit to the Hajj House for his commitment to religious inclusivity. 


In his reaction, Governor Uzodimma extended his gratitude to the Chairman of NAHCON, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, and the entire commission for recognizing the efforts of his administration in promoting unity among diverse religious communities. 


As the 2024 Hajj season approaches, Governor Uzodimma reiterated the state's intensified collaboration with NAHCON to support and facilitate the spiritual journey of Muslim brethren. He assured the public of the government's unwavering resolve to promote inclusivity and unity through governance.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha.  Punish my abusers within 48 hours or face lawsuit - Student bullied by her classmates threaten school authorities The bullied student of British Lead International School, Miss. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
