The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to hold an emergency meeting to address the uncertainty surrounding the future of Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle. According to sources, Chelle is considering terminating his contract as the team's manager. The development comes amidst Nigeria's struggles to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With only seven points from six games, the Super Eagles are currently fourth in Group C, behind leaders South Africa, Rwanda, and Benin Republic. Pressure has been mounting on Chelle, prompting him to travel to Europe in search of reinforcements to bolster the team's defense. However, the uncertainty surrounding his future with the team has reportedly led to a change of heart, with Chelle now considering terminating his contract. The NFF's emergency meeting aims to address the situation and find a resolution. The fate of Chelle and the Super Eagles' World Cup qualifying campaign hang in the balance.

Israeli Troops Withdraw From Gazaā€™s Al-Shifa Hospital After Two-Week Siege

Israeli military forces on Monday said they have withdrawn from the Al-Shifa medical complex in Gaza City following a two-week siege.

Israel Defense Forces said the IDF and ISA have completed operational activity in the area and had exited the area of the hospital.

It also said its troops killed terrorists and located numerous weapons and intelligence documents throughout the hospital.

ā€œIDF and ISA troops have completed precise operational activity in the area of the Shifa Hospital and exited the area of the hospital,ā€ the Israel Defense Forces said, using an acronym for Israelā€™s domestic security agency Shin Bet.

ā€œThe troops killed terrorists in close-quarters encounters, located numerous weapons and intelligence documents throughout the hospital, while preventing harm to civilians, patients, and medical teams.ā€

According to CNN, a Gaza Civil Defense spokesperson, on the scene said that the hospital, which was the enclave's largest medical facility, had been "completely destroyed and burned down."

ā€œInjured and dead bodies fill the hospital grounds,ā€ Captain Mahmoud Bassal said on Monday.

ā€œThere are bodies buried in the hospital yards.ā€

More than 30 wounded people were transported from Al-Shifa to the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital east of Gaza City, Bassal said.

Images from the area showed widespread destruction with charred and pockmarked buildings inside the complex.

Israel's military first raided Al-Shifa in November. Its second military operation there came despite the IDF in January saying it had completed dismantling Hamasā€™ command structure in northern Gaza.

The IDF has said civilians, patients, and medical teams were evacuated during the operation ā€” though Palestinians inside and around Al-Shifa reported civilian casualties and arrests.
