 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  Junior Pope: Actors Guild Sets Up Safety Committee For Members


The President, Actors Guild of Nigeria,  Emeka Rollas, has set up a committee to enhance the safety and welfare of members.


This development follows the boat accident, which claimed the lives of five film practitioners, including popular actor, Junior Pope, on Wednesday.

"In every society there are BUILDERS, DWELLERS AND DESTROYERS. Its important one identifies where one belongs. Over the years in Nollywood many ACTORS have been beaten to submission which is why you find many ACTORS who have featured in over 200 hundred movies and still counting roaming the streets depressed, sick and homeless whereas there counterparts in other parts of the world are reaping the benefits of thier craft.

Today, we have carefully selected these established members to join the BUILDERS category and change this narrative in Nollywood and their names will be written in GOLD in the chronicles of Nollywood.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, National Executive council and the entire membership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria I wish them well in Jesus name.
