  The Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Rivers State Police Command, demanding a public apology for the assault on five journalists during a peaceful protest in Port Harcourt. Failure to comply, the union warned, would result in a statewide media blackout. In a statement jointly signed by Council Chairman Comrade Paul Bazia and Secretary Dr. Ijeoma Tubosia, the NUJ condemned the police actions as “unprovoked, barbaric, and inhuman,” calling for the immediate identification and prosecution of the officers involved. “The NUJ, as a watchdog of society, will not sit idly by while media practitioners are subjected to barbarism and brutality.  Mohbad’s wife should sue if DNA proves positive – Tolanibaj


Big Brother Naija reality star and disc jockey, Tolanibaj has pitched an idea to Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi following the incessant demand for a DNA test.

While discussing the paternity case involving the singer’s son on her podcast Bahd and Boujee, co-hosted by Moet Abebe, she stated that if the DNA test proves that Liam is the son of Mohbad, then the mother of one should sue everybody questioning her son’s paternity.

“If Wunmi takes the DNA test and it turns out that Liam is Mohbad’s child, she should sue everybody who questioned her child’s paternity status”.

Following the singer’s death, many have been clamoring for a DNA test to be done on Liam, his son to ascertain his paternity.

Mohbad’s father also demanded DNA on Liam, a position many agree with.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
