 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. FIVE CRIMINALS ARRESTED  WITH HOME MADE GUN IN NCD.



Three common criminals were among five men arrested by police last night at Erima in Port Moresby.

 Acting NCD Central Commander Assistant Commissioner Peter Guinness said police were responding to a robbery incident at Waigani when they stumbled across a grey sedan with five male occupants.

 The car was stopped at Erima and one of them who attempted to flee was wounded and arrested. 

Police also found a home made pistol and a black bag inside the impounded vehicle.

ACP Guinness said three of them identified as Wialu Kupa Kupsy from Southern Highlands Province,  Jay Jay from Goilala in Central and the wounded suspect identified as Dominic Dom  of Simbu were known to police. The two others arrested among the group will be identified and profiled when they are interviewed by members of the Armed Robbery Squad today, according to ACP Guinness.

The acting Commander said the suspects were most likely making their getaway after robbing a lodge at Waigani at around 2.30am today when they were stopped by police at Erima.

He praised his policemen for their swift response resulting in the arrests and recovery. 

The impounded vehicle will be handed over to the NCD Motor Squad for investigations and the five suspects will be referred to the NCD Armed Robbery Squad for charges to be laid on them.
