 LASG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO END TUBERCULOSIS IN COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS STATE The Lagos State Government on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to completely eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) at the grassroots level across the metropolis.  The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke made this known during a courtesy visit by the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria team to her Ikoyi office, emphasising the present administration's commitment to continually prioritise health security across the state. She said the Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, is a Tuberculosis (TB) champion with the mandate of ending TB now and the continuous expansion of TB scale-up diagnostic centres.  According to her, “The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu is a TB champion.  South Africa on high alert after level nine flood warnings


Authorities say gale-force winds wreaked havoc across the province over the weekend, blowing off rooftops and toppling trees.

Drakenstein Municipality can confirm that the South African Weather Services have issued a Level 9 warning for disruptive rain on Monday, 8 April 2024 in the Cape Winelands, which includes Drakenstein.


We are already experiencing strong winds and rain is expected from tomorrow.


Drakenstein Municipality encourage residents and businesses to please take the necessary precautions, and to ensure their homes’ gutters and downpipes are clear from leaves and debris - to prevent obstructions and flooding, and to assist the flow of stormwater.
