A popular content creator has died from surgery complication     Esther Thomas, popularly known as Sunshine, was a Nigerian content creator, skit maker, and brand influencer. She died on Friday, 9 January 2026, after complications from fibroid surgery. She had been complaining of serious stomach pain from late December 2025.     Sunshine was first admitted at Orchid General Hospital in Lagos, where her friends said she was only given pain relief drugs because doctors were on strike. Her condition did not improve, so she was moved to another hospital on 2 January 2026, where tests showed she had a large fibroid and surgery was carried out. She later developed complications and died. After her death, friends blamed Orchid General Hospital online, saying she was neglected and did not receive proper treatment early enough.  Stop calling my actors to work for you, Ruth Kadiri warns colleagues

Popular actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has sternly warned colleagues to refrain from approaching her artists for movie roles.

Without disclosing the individuals, she said they resort to buying YouTube views and as such they should stay away from her artists.

The filmmaker, known for her prolific production and distribution of movies on YouTube, delivered the stark warning via her Instagram story in which she added that they should either grow their channel organically or groom their own artists.

She wrote: “If you know you’re one of those buying views on YouTube! Stop calling my artist!!

“I will not work for you to destroy! Once they appear on your channel, their rpms become messed up! I will not warn you again! If you cannot grow organically, groom your own casts. Thanks”.
