 TROOPS NEUTRALIZE 6 TERRORISTS, RESCUE 48 HOSTAGES , RECOVER ARMOURED VEHICLE, ARMS IN BORNO, ZAMFARA In a significant blow to terrorists in the North East and North West , valiant troops of the Nigerian Army engaged in Counter-terrorism operations have successfully exterminated 6 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists and rescued 48 hostages. The troops had the encounter with the terrorists during a fighting patrol in the Fulatari and Kago villages of Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State. The encounter led to a fierce exchange of fire, after which the overwhelmed terrorists fled the scene, abandoning their hostages . The quick action of the troops resulted in the liberation of the hostages, including one adult male, 20 adult females, and 27 children. Additionally, the troops recovered a Phantom Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) a 60mm mortar tube, a bandolier, three AK-47 rifle magazines, five rounds of 7.62mm x 51mm ammunition and a bicycle. Taylor Swiift, an American music artist, has joined Forbes’ World’s Billionaires List for the first time, with $1.1 billion (£877 million), followed by Sam Altman, the developer of the AI chatbot ChatGPT, with $1 billion (£800 million).


LVMH French luxury goods mogul Bernard Arnault and his family topped the list, with an estimated $233 billion (£185 billion).


According to Forbes, the record is 2,781 billionaires by 2024.The total is 141 more than last year and 26 more than the previous record, achieved in 2021. Forbes stated that the wealthiest were wealthier than ever, with a total of $14.2 trillion (£11.3 trillion).


Singer-songwriter Swift entered the rich list after achieving megastar status. She stole the show at this year’s Grammy Awards, becoming the first performer to win the prize for album of the year four times.


Her album 1989 (Taylor’s Version) was also the best-selling vinyl LP of last year.Swift’s success is not just confined to the world of music. Her mere presence at American football games to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce has been credited with raising NFL viewing figures.


Also joining Forbes’s list is basketball legend Magic Johnson with wealth of $1.2bn (£950m) and TV producer Dick Wolf, behind the US Law and Order and Chicago PD series, also on $1.2bn.


Chase Peterson-Withorn, senior editor on wealth for Forbes, said it had been an “amazing” year for the world’s richest people

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours.
