Freddie Jackson, R&B Legend Behind “You Are My Lady” and “Rock Me Tonight,” Dies at 70 R&B has lost one of its most unmistakable voices. Freddie Jackson, the singer whose smooth delivery helped define romantic R&B during the 1980s and gave generations of listeners songs including “You Are My Lady,” “Rock Me Tonight (For Old Times Sake)” and “Have You Ever Loved Somebody,” has died. He was 70. Jackson’s death was announced Tuesday, October 6, through his verified Instagram account. According to the memorial shared by his family and team, the singer died Monday night, October 5. The announcement did not disclose a cause of death. “It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Freddie Jackson,” the statement read, describing the singer as a generous soul who loved his fans, family, friends and music.  Three die in Swiss Alps helicopter crash


Police in the United States of America have confirmed the death of three persons in a helicopter crash on the Petit Combin Mountain in the Swiss Alps.

The Wallis Regional Police Force, in a statement on Tuesday, revealed that the B3-type helicopter crashed at a landing site during a heliski drop-off.

The statement read, “Having reached the summit of a mountain culminating at 3,668 metres above sea level, for a reason that the investigation will have to determine, the aircraft slid down the northern slope.

“On board were the pilot, a mountain guide and his four clients. Their identities have not been released.

”Seven helicopters were sent to the site as part of the rescue effort.”

The police further revealed that two injured persons were quickly treated before being airlifted to a hospital in the Wallis cantonal capital Sion, while a third person was subsequently also rescued.

The police added that three other occupants of the aircraft were unfortunately found lifeless.
