  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms.  Actress Aolat escapes death, praises God for divine intervention


Actress Aolat Ayonimofe has expressed deep gratitude to God after surviving a near-death experience that severely impacted her business, leading to significant losses.

She shared a video of a car that crashed into her shop at the spot where she, her children, and her sales representative usually sat.

Ayonimofe revealed that just a day before the incident, she sat at that same spot with her children.

She also mentioned how she almost called her sales representative to come in early for a sales event but decided against it, trusting her instincts.

She wrote on Instagram: “All I have to say is thank you, Lord. Because this is the same spot my sales representative used to sit. I wanted to call my sales rep to resume early because we are running sales but my instinct was against it so I didn’t call her, 15minutes later a fan called me that a car ran into my store…thereby destroying my store. No life was lost thank God. As yesterday me (sic) and my kids still sat at the same spot from morning till 5 pm….your orders might be delayed for now. But we will definitely deliver as soon as we are done renovating…thank you.”

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
