 KADGIS To Introduce Land Agents Registration To Tackle Property Fraud The Kaduna State Geographic Information Service (KADGIS) has announced plans to introduce a registration system for land agents as part of efforts to improve accountability and reduce property-related fraud in the state. The Director-General of KADGIS, Dr Bashir Ibrahim, disclosed this on Wednesday in Kaduna during a town hall meeting on the 2026 Land Administration Reforms. Ibrahim explained that the proposed system would require every land agent operating in Kaduna State to obtain a unique and non-transferable agent code. According to him, the code would make it easier for KADGIS to identify the agents involved in land transactions and determine responsibility whenever disputes or fraudulent activities occur. “Every agent must obtain an agent code.  Adamawa/Taraba Customs Seizes N12 Million Worth of Smuggled Fuel


The Adamawa/Taraba Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it seized petroleum products worth N12,050,700 in just two weeks. 


This was disclosed by the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Garba Bashir, during a press conference held on 23 May 2024 at the Command's headquarters in Yola.


In his statement, Comptroller Bashir highlighted the successful interception of two vehicles laden with 13,890 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in 554 jerry cans, along with two Toyota Hiace buses used for the smuggling operation. 


He said the seizures were made at the Sahuda and Belel axis, near the Nigeria-Cameroon border, based on credible intelligence received by the Command.


"The cumulative Duty Paid Value (DPV) of these seized items stands at Twelve Million, Fifty Thousand, Seven Hundred Naira (N12,050,700.00)," Bashir explained. 


Comptroller Bashir reiterated the Command's commitment to national security, economic stability, and public safety through rigorous border management and collaboration with other security agencies.


"Our operatives are dedicated to fostering a culture of security, stability, and prosperity. We have declared total war against smuggling activities and will not relent in our anti-smuggling drives," Bashir stated. 


He also commended the officers for their diligence and urged them to intensify their efforts to suppress smuggling within the confines of the law.
