 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

 Ademola Lookman’s hat trick wins Europa cup for Atlanta


Super Eagles’ Lookman Ademola scored an hat trick on Wednesday evening to win Atlanta FC the Europa cup against the hitherto unbeaten Bayern Leverkusen side.

Ademola scored a brace in the first half of the pulsating final before grabbing a hat trick in the second half to win the Italian side the first major trophy in its history.

As soon as the final whistle was blown, players and technical crew members of the Atlanta side ran to lift the Nigerian-born super star afloat in a dramatic frenetic victory dance.

He was also named the player of the match.


Lookman makes history, hits hat-trick as Atalanta win Europa League trophy

Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman scored a hat-trick on Wednesday as Atalanta thrashed Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 to win the Europa League trophy in Dublin, Ireland.

The Nigerian striker made history as he becomes the first player to score a hat-trick in Europa League final. He also helped Atalanta to win their first continental trophy in 49 years.

The defeat ended Leverkusen’s 51 games unbeaten run of the season in all competition.

Leverkusen opened the scoring 12 minutes into the match. Davide Zappacosta fed the ball through to Lookman, who picked up the pass inside the box and quickly sent it into the left side of the goal.

Lookman got his brace in the 26th minute of the match. The ball rebounded and arrived at his feet just outside the box. Lookman fired a great shot into the bottom right corner to make it 2-0.

In the 35th minute, Alejandro Grimaldo came close to scoring but should have done much better. His poor attempt from close range ended up in the gloves of Juan Musso.

Eight minutes minute later, Charles De Ketelaere placed a shot from the edge of the box towards the bottom right corner, but Matej Kovar made a terrific save to deny him.

Lookman completed his hat-trick in the 75th minute. He made a great solo run and pulled the trigger from inside the box, beating Matej Kovar with a strike under the crossbar to make it 3-0.
