OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police.  ANAMBRA POLICE RECORD YET ANOTHER BREAKTHROUGH, ARREST TWO SUSPECTED SECESSIONIST, RECOVER ONE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED & SEVENTY LIVE CARTRIDGES AND A STOLEN VEHICLE


The Command Operatives leveraging on the Practical Intelligence and tactical led operations by *CP Nnaghe Obono Itam*,  acted on the information provided and recorded yet another breakthrough as Police Operatives intercepted a shuttle bus, and recovered two 50KG bags containing four cartons of one hundred and seventy pieces live cartridges. 


The Operatives laid ambush on the receipt of Information along Portharcourt Road Fegge, Onitsha, the convener on sighting the Police took to his heels before the driver was arrested. The driver is currently undergoing interrogation to guide the investigation. 


Also, police on 23/5/2024 along Creek Road, Fegge arrested one Mr Kingsley Orji of Okwudo village, Mgbidi, Imo State, and recovered a stolen Lexus RX350 with Reg nos: YAB 912 HR.


The vehicle was reported to have been snatched at gunpoint by six armed men along Love Line assembly, Imo State. The suspect confessed to the crime and has made useful information that is assisting in apprehending other gang members. 


To this end, the *CP* charged the Operatives to sustain the onslaught Operation aimed to deny criminal elements the space they enjoy in the State and assured *Ndi Anambra* the Command Commitment and utmost confidentiality on every information provided and shall be acted upon.
