Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing. Chimezie Imo, a talented actor from the movie Breath of Life, has won the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) Trailblazer award. Imo's outstanding performance in the film caught the attention of the industry. The AMVCA award was held at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos on Saturday. Imo, who has been making waves in the Nigerian film industry, expressed his gratitude for the recognition and dedicated the award to his fans and supporters. He said, "I just want to say a very big thank you, Africa Magic thank you for making me feel seen and recognising this gift God has blessed me with. "So every actor, young, up-and-coming should be one audition away from your big break." The AMVCA has multiple categories for nominees, including actors, movies, and exceptional crew members.
