 BENUE APC CRISIS: I'M GOING NOWHERE - GOV. ALIA 11th April, 2025      Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has disclosed he is not leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) for another party, despite the ongoing crisis in the state’s APC. The governor made this clarification during a media chat yesterday at the Government House in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, saying that such insinuation is coming from mischief-makers. “I am not going anywhere, for the records,” he said, adding that those pushing that narrative do not wish him and the state well. “I am not stupid to follow the bandwagon of mischief makers to take the state down into the dungeon again. “I came into politics to restore Benue to its lost glory; otherwise, I would have remained a priest. I would have remained in a local environment with my people. BREATH OF LIFE ACTOR 'CHIMEZIE IMO' WINS TRAIBLAZER AWARD AT THE 2024 AMVCA. (PHOTO).

Chimezie Imo, a talented actor from the movie Breath of Life, has won the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) Trailblazer award. Imo's outstanding performance in the film caught the attention of the industry. The AMVCA award was held at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos on Saturday. Imo, who has been making waves in the Nigerian film industry, expressed his gratitude for the recognition and dedicated the award to his fans and supporters. He said, "I just want to say a very big thank you, Africa Magic thank you for making me feel seen and recognising this gift God has blessed me with. "So every actor, young, up-and-coming should be one audition away from your big break." The AMVCA has multiple categories for nominees, including actors, movies, and exceptional crew members.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
