 BENUE: TRAGEDY IN KWANDE AS DISPLACED MAN TAKES OWN LIFE AFTER DRINKING POISON Residents of Jato Aka in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State have been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of a displaced person, Mr. Terzungwe Orbam, who reportedly took his own life under distressing circumstances. The deceased was said to be an internally displaced person (IDP) from Ikyoawen in Turan, a community affected by recurring security challenges in the area. Eyewitness accounts indicate that Orbam allegedly purchased a poisonous chemical from an agrochemical shop in Jato Aka. He was said to have consumed the substance in front of the shop premises. He reportedly collapsed shortly after ingesting the chemical and died before any meaningful medical intervention could be provided. His remains have since been deposited in a mortuary, while the incident has left residents shocked and deeply concerned. BRITISH BOXER 'SHERIF LAWAL' PASSED AWAY DURING HIS FIRST PROFESSIONAL FIGHT. (PHOTO). #RIP

 British boxer passes away after being KO'd in his professional debut.  



29-year-old Sherif Lawal was making his professional boxing debut on Sunday. His match was against Malam Varela, a Portuguese fighter, and took place at the Harrow Leisure Center in London.


According to reports, Valera landed "a clean right hook that connected directly to Lawal's temple". It was immediately apparent to the referee that Lawal had a serious medical issue and he stopped the fight and called paramedics in the ring.


CPR was preformed for over 10 minutes in the ring before Lawal was taken to Northwick Park Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 


This is a heartbreaking outcome for a young man whose career seemed to be just taking off. Our thoughts are with his family, fans and friends.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
