 Workers will rather work for free than accept N48,000 — NLC The Nigeria Labour Congress has warned that it would rather mobilise workers to remain at home with their families or offer free services than accept the paltry N48,000 new minimum wage being offered by the Federal Government when they meet on Tuesday.  EXCITEMENT AS COMMUNITY TAKES OVER SOLAR DRIVE WATER PROJECT

It was an atmosphere of joy and excitement at Awkuzu Community in Oyi Local Government Area as they receive the solution touch of a reticulated solar driven drinkable water borehole by the Soludo's administration.


The President General of Awkuzu Town, Dr Ejike Ogoegbunam expressed  happiness over the restoration of the pipe born water  during a technical handover of the water project by the Ministry of Power and Water Resources, Awka.


Dr Ogoegbunam thanked the state government for providing solar powered water borehole to their community, describing water as life.


He then, promised that they will apply good measures to secure and sustain the wonderful project given to them by the state government.


On his part, the Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Mr Julius Chukwuemeka who was represented by the staff of water department of the ministry,  Mr Okechukwu Onyedibe while speaking during the technical handover to the benefiting community explained the (PPCP) model of Soludo's Administration where the private, publics, the community and government will be actively involved in projects going on in their community.


He charged them not to undermine the good intensions of government on the project and to own, manage and sustain the facility.


The contractor who handled the project, Episeni Globals Limited represented by Mr Caleb Okechukwu thanked the state government for finding them worthy to execute the project and asked the state government for more jobs.


Handing over of the project to Awkuzu Community by the Ministry of Power and Water Resources forms the highpoint of the event.
