  Portable defeats Speed Darlington in boxing showdown Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has emerged victorious over fellow artiste Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, in their much-publicised clash at the “Chaos In The Ring” boxing event held at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos. The heated rivalry between the two musicians was sparked by a booking dispute, after Speed Darlington reportedly offered Portable ₦500,000 to perform at his show,an offer Portable dismissed as insulting. Leading up to the bout, Portable had expressed disinterest in fighting Speed Darlington, stating he would rather face former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua for ₦100 million, branding Darlington an “unworthy opponent.” The high-energy event, organised by Game Rush and Balmoral Promotions, was part of the Friday Fight Night series and followed the success of previous editions, including a major tournament in December 2024.  It also featured top-tier fight...

Cuppy Otedola, an Ambassador of The King’s Trust International, meets with His Majesty King Charles III, at Buckingham Palace. 


Cuppy is amongst a few to be invited to join the 2024 Prince’s Trust Award winners at a very special reception with His Majesty The King, at Buckingham Palace.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
