Award-winning singer Tiwa Savage has recalled how she used to be stopped from performing at concerts when she returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom because of her ārevealingā outfits.
She disclosed some of her earlier music videos were not aired because they were considered indecent.
The āStaminaā crooner disclosed this in a recent interview with BET.
Savage said: āWhen I first moved back, I would turn up at a show and they would say I canāt perform because my outfit was too risquĆ©.
āIt was a cultural issue. Even some of my first music videos were not played on the television because they were considered indecent. I wasnāt even wearing bikinis.
āDespite the setbacks, I was still stubborn. My dresses were getting more revealing. It was just getting worse. They were bashing me online.
āIt was funny because the females were secretly falling in love with me and my style. They couldnāt deny it. My fanbase, my followers, was growing. So they had to put me on shows and play my music because there was a demand for it.ā
It is pure jealousy and IBB, aka International Bad Belle. They just can't stand her growing popularity. Simple.
