 PRESS RELEASE MINISTER OF INFORMATION LEADS HEADS OF AGENCIES TO BROADCASTERS CONFERENCE IN LAS VEGAS In an effort to strengthen broadcast collaborations and form strategic alliances, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris fnipr, has led a delegation of heads of government agencies to the 2025 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference and Workshop in Las Vegas, USA. The NAB event, running from April 5 to 9, carries the theme “The Technology, The Trend, The Future” and will cover a range of topics, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud visualization, the creator economy, and sports production and streaming. INDEED, AFRICA IS THE RISING SUN…First Lady Oluremi Tinubu

As the Turkish Ambassador pays her courtesy visit


The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu has urged Nigerians to have a love for the country and believe in themselves.

She was speaking while receiving the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Nigeria, Hidayet Bayraktar in her office at the State House Abuja.

“We have not explored in our country. We have so much that God has blessed us with”

“I know Turkey wants to encourage Nigeria and the whole of Africa and we are grateful”.

“We are looking forward to when Nigeria would take her place in the comity of nations, and that is very soon”.

Earlier, Ambassador Hidayet Bayraktar disclosed that Turkish Nationals are looking forward to improved collaborations with Nigeria especially in Security, Energy, Construction, and using entertainment to enhance culture and health.

“We are hoping that a Turkish Hospital would be established here and that would reduce medical tourism”.

“People should get to know Nigeria and its culture through the film industry”.

He informed Senator Oluremi Tinubu of the eagerness of the First Lady of Turkey to attend the forthcoming Organisation of African First Ladies for Development, OAFLAD Nigeria’s campaign launch of #WeAreEqual* holding on Monday 13th May 2024.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
