 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision.   LADY STABS HUSBAND TO DEATH IN MAKURDI



A lady, identified as Torkwase kpile has allegedly killed her husband, Mr. Igbah Kpile over a disagreement over sex in  Achusa Village, Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State.


Torkwase, 29, and her husband, 37 has been in marriage for only two months before the incident happened in the early hours of sunday.


According to a source in the Area who spoke on Monday with newsmen , the couple went into an argument over sex before the lady picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Igbah in the neck. 


Torkwase was said to have gone on to stab igbah in several other parts of his body before he collapsed.


When the neighbours heard Igbah,s scream, they rushed into the house and met him in a pool of his blood with the wife standing unremorseful and even more angry, in her words because the husband was disturbing her for Sex.


They rushed him to a nearby Clinic in Makurdi but he died before they could get to the hospital.When the neighbours arrived at the hospital the doctor on duty confirmed that he was brought into the hospital dead.


A source in the Area disclosed to newsmen that Torkwase was seen in the Area  Running away after the incident. meanwhile, the  Police was contacted and investigations are ongoing it was later disclosed that Before the arrival of the police at the scene, the suspect had fled to an unknown destination, meanwhile effort has being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect.
