 The credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters’ register has come under intense scrutiny ahead of the 2027 general elections, following revelations by INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan that names of deceased persons remain on the register. Amupitan disclosed that names of voters who died as far back as 15 years ago are still listed, a situation critics say could undermine the integrity of the 2027 polls and lead to significant financial waste through the printing of excess ballot papers and other election logistics. The INEC chairman made the revelation while receiving the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, and her management team during a courtesy visit in Abuja on Wednesday.   LADY STABS HUSBAND TO DEATH IN MAKURDI



A lady, identified as Torkwase kpile has allegedly killed her husband, Mr. Igbah Kpile over a disagreement over sex in  Achusa Village, Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State.


Torkwase, 29, and her husband, 37 has been in marriage for only two months before the incident happened in the early hours of sunday.


According to a source in the Area who spoke on Monday with newsmen , the couple went into an argument over sex before the lady picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Igbah in the neck. 


Torkwase was said to have gone on to stab igbah in several other parts of his body before he collapsed.


When the neighbours heard Igbah,s scream, they rushed into the house and met him in a pool of his blood with the wife standing unremorseful and even more angry, in her words because the husband was disturbing her for Sex.


They rushed him to a nearby Clinic in Makurdi but he died before they could get to the hospital.When the neighbours arrived at the hospital the doctor on duty confirmed that he was brought into the hospital dead.


A source in the Area disclosed to newsmen that Torkwase was seen in the Area  Running away after the incident. meanwhile, the  Police was contacted and investigations are ongoing it was later disclosed that Before the arrival of the police at the scene, the suspect had fled to an unknown destination, meanwhile effort has being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect.
