 Umueri Crisis Claim: False, Election to Hold April 8 - Says Anambra East Mayor By Nwegbo Ifeanyi  The Anambra East LG Chairman, Hon. Ifeanyi Chinweze, has denied allegations of a leadership crisis in Umueri General Assembly, calling the statement from Ikenga Umueri Unity Forum " false and misleading. Addressing journalists, Chinweze said Umueri is peaceful, with town union elections scheduled for April 8, 2026. He claimed Ikenga Umueri Unity Forum, which issued the statement, is actually frustrating the election with selfish motives.  He distanced himself, PG Chief John Metchie, and electoral committee chairman Barr. Eugene Aghaebe from the allegations, saying they were innocent. The controversy arose after Chinweze insisted Ikenga should not hold key positions like, Secretary, and Vice President simultaneously since they have president general, considering Umueri's three quarters (Ezi, Ikenga, and Invite).   LADY STABS HUSBAND TO DEATH IN MAKURDI



A lady, identified as Torkwase kpile has allegedly killed her husband, Mr. Igbah Kpile over a disagreement over sex in  Achusa Village, Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State.


Torkwase, 29, and her husband, 37 has been in marriage for only two months before the incident happened in the early hours of sunday.


According to a source in the Area who spoke on Monday with newsmen , the couple went into an argument over sex before the lady picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Igbah in the neck. 


Torkwase was said to have gone on to stab igbah in several other parts of his body before he collapsed.


When the neighbours heard Igbah,s scream, they rushed into the house and met him in a pool of his blood with the wife standing unremorseful and even more angry, in her words because the husband was disturbing her for Sex.


They rushed him to a nearby Clinic in Makurdi but he died before they could get to the hospital.When the neighbours arrived at the hospital the doctor on duty confirmed that he was brought into the hospital dead.


A source in the Area disclosed to newsmen that Torkwase was seen in the Area  Running away after the incident. meanwhile, the  Police was contacted and investigations are ongoing it was later disclosed that Before the arrival of the police at the scene, the suspect had fled to an unknown destination, meanwhile effort has being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
