 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. OHIO MAN ARRESTED AFTER TYING UP A PUPPY IN A DRAWSTRING BAG AND ABANDONING IT AT A PARK. (PHOTO).

 Ohio man arrested after tying up a puppy in a drawstring bag and abandoning it at a park.


Harold Lilly, of Middletown, Ohio, is being charged with cruelty to a Companion Animal and animal abandonment. His arrest comes after a puppy, now named Ryder, was found tied up in a bag and abandoned at 700 Joe Nuxhall Boulevard on April 24th.


Animal control officers were called and retrieved the puppy who they reported as being lethargic and weak. After a battery of tests showed no pre-existing illness he was vaccinated. He has since made a full recovery and is a healthy and happy puppy. 


The police department shared Ryder's story online and tips began pouring in leading to the arrest of Harold Lilly. 


Lilly has been charged and is awaiting his appearance in Hamilton Municipal Court.
