 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  TROOPS AMBUSH TERRORISTS ON TRANSIT TO COMMIT MAYHEM IN KADUNA, KILL ONE, RECOVER ARMS



Troops of Nigerian Army deployed for Counter-terrorism operations in Kaduna State have in a response to actionable intelligence ambushed terrorists transiting with arms in the Birnin Gwari axis of the state on Wednesday 15 May 2024.


The troops laid in ambush around Kwaga Village for the terrorists, known for causing mayhem within the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, neutralizing one terrorist, while others fled in disarray. 


The quick reaction of the troops not only prevented a potential attack on innocent citizens in the area,  but also led to the recovery of 2 AK 47 Rifles with magazines, as well as 2 motorbikes. 

Troops are currently in pursuit of the fleeing terrorists.
