 Stolen Jewellery: Patience Jonathan's Ex-Aides Rot in Jail as Court Adjourns Case 40 Times Some former domestic workers of ex-First Lady Patience Jonathan have been imprisoned for over six years, with their trial repeatedly delayed due to adjournments. The 15 workers, accused of stealing jewelry and valuables worth N200 million, were arrested in 2019 and are being held at the Okaka Custodial Centre in Bayelsa State. The defendants were accused of stealing seven gold bangles and jewelry, five Samsung air conditioners, two sets of upholstery chairs, and six Samsung flat-screen televisions. They also face 18 counts of conspiracy to commit murder, armed robbery, burglary, and stealing. The workers claim they were unlawfully detained without evidence. "We have been in prison since 2019. We were domestic staff of the former first lady, Patience Jonathan. In 2019, there was a case of breaking into one of her apartments in Otuoke, and she decided to arrest all her workers," one ...

 TROOPS FOIL KIDNAP ATTEMPT AND NEUTRALISE IPOB/ESN MEMBERS, RECOVER WEAPONS



Troops of Operation UDO KA on Friday 17 May 2024 foiled an attempted kidnap of another law-abiding South Easterner (names withheld) at Umuaka in Njaba LGA of Imo State. 


The troops while on routine patrol at Umuaka, along Road Orlu-Owerri, were alerted of the kidnap incident and the escape route of the kidnappers. The troops swiftly pursued the kidnappers and made contact with them. In the fire fight that ensued, the troops professionally neutralized one of the kidnappers and injured two others despite their attempts to use passer-by as human shield. The troops recovered one AK 47 rifle with two loaded magazines and a motorcycle. 


Similarly, troops in conjunction with personnel of Naval Base, Oguta neutralised a member of IPOB/ESN terrorist group  at Amagberedere village in Oguta LGA of Imo State.


During the raid operation conducted to the suspected hideout of the dissidents, the irredentists opened fire on sighting the troops but the soldiers responded appropriately and in the process neutralised one of the terrorists and recovered one pump action shotgun and two cartridges. 


While commending the good people of Umuaka and Oguta for providing timely intelligence, we  continue to encourage the general public to provide timely information that will lead to the arrest of these criminal elements terrorizing the law-abiding and peace loving Ndigbos. The Force Commander, JTF SE Operation UDO KA Major General Hassan Dada beseech the support of all for restoration of peace in Imo State and the South East in general.  Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
