 Rivers Politics: I’m focused on Tinubu’s assignment, not distracted  – Wike Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Nyesom Wike has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on the assignment given go him by President Bola Tinubu to give a facelift to the nation’s capital, saying he cannot be distracted by the politics of his home state, Rivers. He said his major priority now is to ensure that all the projects slated for commissioning by the President to mark his first anniversary are completed, even as checks revealed that most of the projects were almost completed. The minister announced this on Friday in Abuja during an inspection tour of some projects to be commissioned by the end of the month. “I am not distracted. If I am distracted you won’t see this performance here. I focus on my work. I am not interested. I am the Minister of FCT, the works are going on. if distracted how will these works be progressing? Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has expressed happiness over the return of investors and businesses in Aba and other cities of Abia State, attributing it to the administrative dexterity of the State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti.


The Deputy Speaker he said reiterated his support for the governor, calling for synergy between his office and the state government for speedy development of the state.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison.  Punish my abusers within 48 hours or face lawsuit - Student bullied by her classmates threaten school authorities The bullied student of British Lead International School, Miss. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
