 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.  Why I prostrated to greet IBD Dende – Teni


Afrobeats singer Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni has explained the reasons for prostrating to greet popular businessman and socialite, Ibrahim Egungbohun Dende, aka IBD Dende, on a plane recently.

Following Teni’s action, netizens criticised her for also sharing the video prostrating to greet IBD Dende.

Most of the commentators slammed her for associating with IBD Dende despite smuggling allegations against him.

Reacting on Saturday morning, Teni explained that she wasn’t aware of any criminal activities associated with IBD Dende, adding that the businessman showed her kindness in 2014 before she hit stardom, making her hold him in high esteem.

She noted that she does not support criminals.

She wrote: “[I] Met IBD [Dende] in 2014 and he was so good to me, even before I blew up. So when[ever] I see him, it’s always love.

“I honestly had no knowledge of any criminal activities associated with him. I do not support criminals, so let the law take its course.”
