 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room.  WORKERS DAY: ANAMBRA POLICE SALUTE WORKERS ON LABOR DAY: APPRECIATE WORKERS FOR THEIR PERSEVERANCE IN PRESERVING NATIONAL UNITY

As the world celebrates workers on International Workers' Day,  the outgoing Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Police Command, CP Aderemi Adeoye has congratulated workers in the state for their hard work and invaluable efforts in the state.


The Anambra State Police Command, through its Spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, recognized workers for their diligence, loyalty, and especially their resilience in maintaining peace and rejecting illegal sit-at-home days and other actions that might jeopardize the state's harmony. This statement was made in a press release on Tuesday, April 30, highlighting Commissioner Adeoye's appreciation for workers' invaluable contributions to public safety and unity.


CP Adeoye urged the workers and residents to continue to uphold the law, remain vigilant, and offer support to the Police and other security agencies as they collaborate and synergize to combat all types of crime and guarantee public safety in Anambra State. He emphasized the importance of joint efforts in preserving peace and security in the state.
