  A 23-year-old Nigerian woman identified as Osarugbe, has died in Libya. African beauty products   She passed away at about 11:33am on Friday, April 4, 2025 after battling illness.    Anti-human trafficking advocate, Yakubu Oyiza and her team had been raising money to bring her back to Nigeria for better medical treatment as hospitals in Libya rejected her.    According to Oyiza, documents for burial, autopsy, and land to bury her in Libya have been arranged, all costing approximately 350,000.   She alleged that the family abandoned her since she fell sick and had earlier refused to go to Kano and pick her up the day she was supposed to be brought back to Nigeria.    In a Facebook post on Saturday, April 5, Oyiza revealed that some family members of the deceased called them asking for Osas’ properties.  Anambra State Police Command is aware of trending publications on the alleged incident of Nine fishermen kidnapped in Anambra, and the Command not wanting to join issues with anyone invites the relatives of the victims of the alleged incident to come forward and assist us with necessary information. This shall help us to embark on investigations and drive our decision on security deployment and strategy in the state to prevent such reoccurring if it is true. 


The Command expressed shock that a case of such magnitude trending online does not have any link with any Police Formation in the State and also noted the reactions of some alleged interested parties and persons, but is not discouraged by any comments, assuring Its readiness to deploy investigative assets and partner with any concerned body or interest to help for possible rescue.


The Command reiterated its commitment to delivering on its mandate of the protection of lives and property, urges members of the public, especially the eyewitnesses or otherwise with any useful information in this regard are advised to call the Command Control Room at *07039194332* or the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) at *08039334002*, please.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
