 NAFDAC Reopens Onitsha Drug Market After Month-Long Closure The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has reopened the Onitsha Head Bridge drug market, popularly known as 'Ogbo Ogwu', after a month-long closure for sanitization and regulatory enforcement. The market was shut down as part of NAFDAC's nationwide clampdown on fake and substandard medicines. To prevent a recurrence of the issues that led to the closure, NAFDAC has implemented strict administrative conditions for reopening. Shop owners are required to complete documentation and clearance procedures before their shops can be unsealed. A dedicated NAFDAC desk has been established to facilitate the process efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.² According to NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, only shops that meet the conditions will be allowed to resume operations. POLICE OFFICER PASSES AWAY IN THE LINE OF DUTY 18 YEARS AFTER HIS FATHER PASSED AWAY THE SAME WAY. (PHOTO).

 Arizona police officer passes away in the line of duty 18 years after his father passed away the same way.


24-year-old Josh Briese passed away Saturday morning after responding to a disturbance. As police responded, gunfire erupted striking Briese and another officer with Gila River PD. Four other people were also struck by the rounds including 23-year-old Alicen Apkaw, who also passed away as a result of her injuries. The other victims were treated for their injuries and are in stable condition.


After the deadly incident, the Gila River Indian Comunity Council suspended all dances. 


Officer Briese had been with the department for less than a year and half. He was following in the footsteps of his father who was also a law enforcement officer.


Sadly, his father Dave Briese also passed away in the line of duty. He was involved in a vehicle crash while responding to a call in November of 2006.


Our thoughts are with this family who have lost two loved ones in the service of others. We are also thinking of Alicen's family.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
