 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. POLICE OFFICER PASSES AWAY IN THE LINE OF DUTY 18 YEARS AFTER HIS FATHER PASSED AWAY THE SAME WAY. (PHOTO).

 Arizona police officer passes away in the line of duty 18 years after his father passed away the same way.


24-year-old Josh Briese passed away Saturday morning after responding to a disturbance. As police responded, gunfire erupted striking Briese and another officer with Gila River PD. Four other people were also struck by the rounds including 23-year-old Alicen Apkaw, who also passed away as a result of her injuries. The other victims were treated for their injuries and are in stable condition.


After the deadly incident, the Gila River Indian Comunity Council suspended all dances. 


Officer Briese had been with the department for less than a year and half. He was following in the footsteps of his father who was also a law enforcement officer.


Sadly, his father Dave Briese also passed away in the line of duty. He was involved in a vehicle crash while responding to a call in November of 2006.


Our thoughts are with this family who have lost two loved ones in the service of others. We are also thinking of Alicen's family.
