 FG reaffirms commitment to North-East inclusion in Agro-Industrial Project amid exclusion claims The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has dismissed concerns raised by the North-East Caucus of the National Assembly regarding the alleged exclusion of the region from the Federal Government's flagship agricultural initiative the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) program. The minister of agriculture and food security Sen. Abubakar Kyari made the clarification over the weekend while briefing the media. He noted that the North-East is not only included in the SAPZ program, but that several states from the region have already met the eligibility criteria for the second phase of the project. The response comes on the heels of public criticisms sparked by the recent groundbreaking ceremonies in Kaduna and Cross River states.  Abiodun Commiserates With Ifonyintedo Community Over Demise Of Oba Adesiyan


The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has commiserated with the family members, people of Ifonyintedo and the entire Ipokia Local Government over the demise of the Olu of Ifonyintedo, HRM, Oba Isaac Olatunji Adesiyan (Atelugirijoye 1).


Oba Adesiyan joined his ancestors on Sunday, 16 June, at the ripe age of 95.


Governor Abiodun, in his condolence message, described the late monarch as a leader who was loved by his people.


The governor said the reign of the late monarch was eventful as the Ifonyintedo community witnessed unprecedented development.


"It is with deep sadness that we received the news of the passing of His Royal Majesty, Oba Isaac Olatunji Adesiyan (Atelugirijoye 1), the Olu of Ifonyintedo. At the age of 95, Oba Adesiyan has left an indelible mark on his community as a respected leader and a guiding force.


"Oba Adesiyan dedicated his life to the service and development of Ifonyintedo. During his long reign, he worked tirelessly to promote the wellbeing and progress of his people. His wisdom, compassion, and unwavering commitment to his community will be greatly missed.


"I extend our heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the Ifonyintedo Council of Chiefs, and the entire Ifonyintedo community," the statement said.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
