Soludo's Wife Enrols 1,000 Persons With Special Needs Into Anambra Health Insurance Scheme

The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has sponsored the enrollment of 1,000 persons with special needs into the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme.
The event, which took place at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia, is the largest ever convergence of such beneficiaries receiving the sponsorship from a governor's wife since the scheme began in 2018.
Mrs Soludo said that she was proud to support the beneficiaries from the 179 communities in the state.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the governor's wife said that the intervention was a testament to her husband's administration's shared commitment to the well-being of people with special needs, particularly those living in the grassroots.
She assured that her husband's administration is working round the clock to ensure that everyone living in Anambra State gets a feel of good governance, adding that Anambra's human capital policies are well-designed to explore potentials and give every resident a veritable platform to be on board.
Mrs Soludo pointed out that every one of the beneficiary would go home fully insured to receive free medical care in selected Anambra-based health facilities of their choice.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Simon Onyemeachi, commended the Governor’s wife for her humanity and special interest in helping the people living with Disability in the State.
He addressed the newly insured persons on the benefits of having health insurance, their rights as an enrollee, gave a brief overview of the scheme and advised that they make good use of this opportunity by always visiting the hospital for checkups.
In his speech, the Anambra State Chairman of Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Comrade Ugochukwu Okeke commended Mrs Soludo for the kind gesture.
In their separate appreciations, some of the beneficiaries, Mr Kinsley Godwin and Ms Justina Ikenna, vowed to continue to support the administration and prayed God to bless Mrs Soludo's good heart.
The Anambra Commissioner for Women Affairs and and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo, Chairman, Anambra State Disability Rights Commission, Barr. Chuks Ezewuzie, State Cordinator of Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption programme, RoLAC, Mrs Josephine Onah, others, were at the event.
