 Sudan war: Hundreds of civilians displaced in latest South Kordofan's violence A total of 570 civilians were displaced from Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan, over a three-day period due to deteriorating security conditions, the UN International Organization for Migration (IOM) said. The organisation said in a statement that its tracking teams recorded the displacement of 570 people from Kadugli between 8 and 10 January, as insecurity escalated in the city. The displaced families headed toward areas in White Nile State, southern Sudan. The situation in Kadugli remains “tense and volatile,” the agency said, adding that its teams are continuing to closely monitor developments on the ground. Last week, IOM reported that the number of displaced people across Sudan’s three Kordofan states, North, West and South, had risen to 64,890 between 25 October and 30 December 2025. Pop star Justin Timberlake has been arrested in New York on charges related to driving while intoxicated, as per reports.


Media reports stated that the singer was apprehended in Sag Harbor, an affluent village in the Hamptons, Long Island—a popular summer destination for celebrities.


Timberlake, 43, who was set to embark on a global tour for his sixth album, ‘Everything I Thought It Was’, is expected to be formally charged shortly. 


Justin Timberlake is a former member of boy band NSYNC. Timberlake has made a significant impact as an actor, songwriter, and one of the world's best-selling music artists. 


This arrest comes just days before Timberlake was scheduled to perform two shows in Chicago this weekend, followed by a show at New York’s Madison Square Garden next Tuesday. Timberlake's arrest could potentially affect the planned schedule of his tour, reports stared.


In addition to his music career, Timberlake has also garnered acclaim for his acting roles in films such as ‘The Social Network’ and ‘Friends With Benefits’. As a 10-time Grammy winner, his influence spans across multiple entertainment industries.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
