 Four people have died after a car was swept away at an overflowing bridge in the Makotopong River near Sebayeng. Police recovered the bodies after a blue Renault Kwid carrying five occupants was pulled into the river during heavy water flow on Sunday morning, 8 March 2026. One passenger escaped from the vehicle and alerted police and emergency services. Police say the car was travelling along the Madiga–Makotopong gravel road when it overturned at the flooded bridge and was dragged into the river. The Provincial Search and Rescue team recovered the first body on Sunday. The victim was identified as Lebapa Petrus Mochitele, 27, from Madiga Village. EMS personnel declared him dead at the scene. Search operations resumed on Monday with the SAPS Water Wing Unit, EMS Search and Rescue, the Fire and Rescue Department, and an EMS helicopter. Pop star Justin Timberlake has been arrested in New York on charges related to driving while intoxicated, as per reports.


Media reports stated that the singer was apprehended in Sag Harbor, an affluent village in the Hamptons, Long Island—a popular summer destination for celebrities.


Timberlake, 43, who was set to embark on a global tour for his sixth album, ‘Everything I Thought It Was’, is expected to be formally charged shortly. 


Justin Timberlake is a former member of boy band NSYNC. Timberlake has made a significant impact as an actor, songwriter, and one of the world's best-selling music artists. 


This arrest comes just days before Timberlake was scheduled to perform two shows in Chicago this weekend, followed by a show at New York’s Madison Square Garden next Tuesday. Timberlake's arrest could potentially affect the planned schedule of his tour, reports stared.


In addition to his music career, Timberlake has also garnered acclaim for his acting roles in films such as ‘The Social Network’ and ‘Friends With Benefits’. As a 10-time Grammy winner, his influence spans across multiple entertainment industries.
