The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to hold an emergency meeting to address the uncertainty surrounding the future of Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle. According to sources, Chelle is considering terminating his contract as the team's manager. The development comes amidst Nigeria's struggles to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With only seven points from six games, the Super Eagles are currently fourth in Group C, behind leaders South Africa, Rwanda, and Benin Republic. Pressure has been mounting on Chelle, prompting him to travel to Europe in search of reinforcements to bolster the team's defense. However, the uncertainty surrounding his future with the team has reportedly led to a change of heart, with Chelle now considering terminating his contract. The NFF's emergency meeting aims to address the situation and find a resolution. The fate of Chelle and the Super Eagles' World Cup qualifying campaign hang in the balance.

PRIMATE AYODELE BLASTS GOVERNORS FOR REJECTING N60,000 MINIMUM WAGE.(PHOTO).

Primate Ayodele blasts governors for rejecting N60,000 minimum wage

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Sunday accused state governors of being heartless following their rejection of the N60,000 minimum wage proposal and offering N57,000 as the amount they can approve.

Primate Ayodele said Nigerian governors are heartless and inhumane for failing to improve the lives of workers.

He noted that the proposed N57,000 is insufficient to cope with the hardships in the country.

In a statement by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, the prophet revealed that the inadequate wages workers receive are contributing factor to the persistence of insecurity in several states of Nigeria.

He called on governors to review the payment for workers instead of frustrating efforts to improve their lives.

According to Ayodele: ā€œOur governors are heartless. Paying N57,000 as a minimum wage in this present time is like punishing workers because there is serious hardship in this country. The proposed amount cannot work because they also canā€™t accept such a ridiculous amount.

ā€œThey collect security votes and allocate different payments to themselves, but paying a meager amount as minimum wage has become a problem for them.

ā€œThis is one of the reasons insecurity persists in our states because when a security man is paid below expectations, he will collect money from bandits to operate.

ā€œThe salaries of workers need to be reviewed because governors and politicians get paid handsomely. The people in government know the pain of the people, but itā€™s sad that they are frustrating efforts to make it better.ā€

Regarding the labor unions, Primate Ayodele condemned them for shutting down the national grid in a demonstration over the minimum wage.

He described the action as one that could endanger the lives of innocent Nigerians. Going forward, the prophet advised the unions to be mindful of their actions during demonstrations.

ā€œShutting down the national grid is totally condemned; itā€™s something that can cost the lives of innocent Nigerians. The unions should know how to express their grievances without affecting other Nigerians. Shutting down the national grid only affected innocent Nigerians.ā€
