 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police.  PROMOTING GREEN ECONOMY: LAGOS NSCDC PARTNERS NIPR ON WALK FOR ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION AND TREE PLANTING, KESHINRO CONGRATULATES NIPR.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command ensured a solid partnership with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations ( NIPR ) during the later's 'Walk for Economic Transformation and Tree Planting,' which was embarked upon to commemorate its 60th Anniversary. The NSCDC team led by Deputy Commandant of Corps Marian Mbakwe in charge of Medical also drew personnel from Units such as; Public Relations, Medical, Sports, Armed Squad, Ikeja and Ojodu Divisions and fully, participated, in the Walk held on Saturday, 1st June, 2024. The Command deployed, ambulance, motor bikes and first aid materials in addition to personnel in a bid to further cement its unflinching support for the highly revered institution across the globe and the media in general.


"We need a prosperous atmosphere to thrive as security agencies, citizens, businesses and professional bodies," Adedotun keshinro, the State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command admonished, while speaking to news men,  through his Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Corps Oluwaseun Abolurin, during the aerobics section of the Walk, which started at Man House, Ikeja Bus stop and terminated at JJT Park, Alahusa, Ikeja.


In the same vein, the Lagos State Commandant, has once again seized this opportunity to congratulate the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations ( NIPR ) especially, the Lagos State Chapter and its Chairman, Mrs Comfort Nwankwo and her entire team for putting up this laudable feat and particularly, promoting the green economy of our dear country, Nigeria, amidst other salient purposes.


Present also at the aforementioned Walk were personnel from other sister security agencies; Nigeria Police Force ( NPF ), Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC ) and LASTMA et ce tera..
