 Political Parties Are Part of Our Problems in Nigeria—Oby Ezekwesili Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has stated that the problem of Nigeria is political parties. Her outburst comes following the incessant defection from other parties to the All Progressive Congress, APC. Ezekwesili emphasized that Nigeria has a faulty foundation and defecting from one political party to another which she described as ‘acronymn’ won’t solve the problem. Her words,”Can I tell you that political parties has been part of the problems of our elite failures because we really havent had political parties in Nigeria.  Regional Hotel Operation  EFCC Raises Disciplinary Team against Errant Officers


The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  Mr. Ola Olukoyede has raised a Disciplinary Team to look into the case of two errant officers of the Commission who allegedly assaulted a female staff of Regional Hotel, Ojo,  Lagos.


The officers were sighted in a viral video assaulting the staff of the hotel in an early morning sting operation on Thursday,  June 27,  2024.


Olukoyede ordered the arrest of the two officers and has directed them to appear before a joint Disciplinary Team comprising the Appointment, Promotion and Disciplinary Committee,  APDC and the Department of Ethics and Integrity.   They are billed to appear before the Team on Monday,  July 1, 2024 at the Corporate Headquarters of the Commission,  Abuja.


The Team would look into the case of the officers and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures to be taken against them. 


Olukoyede stressed that no stone will be left unturned in getting the officers to account for their unprofessional conduct.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
