 Military judge suppresses Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s FBI confession in 9/11 case A military judge has excluded a confession that alleged Sept. 11 attacks mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed gave to FBI agents nearly 20 years ago, ruling that the statements were not made voluntarily. The decision is a setback for the U.S. government's long-running effort to prosecute Mohammed, who is accused of helping develop the plot to hijack planes and crash them into the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Mohammed remains detained at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, alongside other defendants awaiting trial. Lt. Col. Michael Schrama, the judge overseeing the case, scheduled a June 2028 trial for Mohammed and three other defendants earlier this week. In an order issued Friday that has not been made public, Schrama barred prosecutors from using statements Mohammed made during four days of FBI questioning at Guantanamo in January 2007.  Beyoncé introduces Team USA at 2024 Paris Olympics


American singer, Beyoncé made a surprise appearance during the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony broadcast on NBC Friday night, as she introduced several American athletes.

The ‘Drunk In Love’ hitmaker donned a red, white and blue ensemble, including a ‘USA’ leotard and a billowing cape, along with cowboy boots and a cowboy hat.

“Get a look at America, y’all,” Beyonce began, as her hit song ‘Ya Ya’ from her most recent album, ‘Cowboy Carter,’ played in the background.

“These hopes and dreams, these superstars that represent us. The people of this big, bold, beautiful, complicated nation. All rooting together for them.”

She shouted out a few members of the team — Simone Biles, Sha’Carri Richardson, Noah Lyles, Caeleb Dressel, and Katie Ledecky.

“That pride and that joy? That’s what gets me about this team. And that’s what makes me believe in this team. And that’s why I can’t wait to see what they pull off over these next 16 days. America, give it up for Team U.S.A., the very best of who we are. What a vision to behold. What a team to believe in. What a night to celebrate,” she added.
