 BREAKING NEWS ANAMBRA POLICE RECORD FURTHER BREAKTHROUGH IN OGIDI, RECOVER MORE ARMS In continuation of an earlier operation by Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, which led to the arrest of three suspects and recovery of arms in Ogidi on 21st March 2026, the Anambra State Police Command has recorded further breakthrough following sustained investigation and interrogation. The Operatives made additional progress with the arrest of the suspected ringleader of the syndicate, one Chukwuka Anene ‘M’, aged 46 years, who confessed to being the armourer of the gang. The suspect subsequently led Police operatives to the gang’s hideout in Ogidi, where the following items were recovered: two pump-action guns, two locally made Beretta pistols, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven live cartridges, a beret linked to a cult group, and body armour.  Fighting corruption requires joint effort - Uzor Kalu


The lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu, has said that fighting corruption requires Nigerians collective effort.


According to him, Nigerians need to unite and combat corruption collectively to prevent its negative impact on the entire nation.


He partly said: "The greatest problem you're looking for is corruption. Corruption has eaten the fabric of Nigeria, whether in the private or public sector. 


"The greatest problem Nigeria has today is corruption. If Nigeria or Nigerians do not march to kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigerians. So Nigeria better stand up for all of us to kill corruption. 


"The greatest problem we have in and out, every leader, all the leaders are involved in corruption, people in the streets are corrupt also. Both the led and the people leading are corrupt. The private and public sector, except we leave corruption alone, corruption will not leave us."

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
