 SANWO-OLU CELEBRATES EX-FIRST LADY, ABIMBOLA FASHOLA AT 60   Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated the former First Lady, Dame Abimbola Fashola, on her 60th birthday, describing her as an Amazon, a selfless giver and an experienced administrator.   He said Abimbola, wife of former Governor of Lagos State and ex-Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), who clocks 60 on Sunday, is beacon of hope, positive energy and development, which she deployed in great proportions towards her pet projects during her tenure as First Lady.  Gov. Abiodun Unveils Plans to Launch Electric Bike Initiative 


Ogun State Government has concluded plan to introduce electric bikes as part of the energy transition initiative  of the Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration.


The launching, billed for Wednesday next week, is the second phase of the administrationā€™s e-mobility programme, following the launch of CNG- powered buses last year.


Governor Abiodun, speaking during a meeting with the Minister of Transportation, Senator Saā€™idu Ahmed Alkali, in Abuja on Thursday, described the planned introduction as a significant step towards sustainable transportation solutions in the state.


Prince Abiodun also said that the introduction will further bring down transport fares across the state, noting that gas and electricity are cheaper than petrol powered transportation system.


The governor said: ā€œWe met with the Minister of Transportation, Senator Saā€™idu Ahmed Alkali, to discuss the upcoming launch of Phase 2 of our energy transition plan in Ogun State. 


ā€œThis phase, centred on our e-mobility programme, will see the introduction of electric bikes, marking a significant step towards sustainable transportation solutions in our state. 


ā€œThe meeting underscored our commitment to promoting alternative clean energy sources, which are crucial in addressing the current economic challenges and transportation costs. 


ā€œWe are excited to announce that the official launch of this initiative will take place on Wednesday, 31st July, at the Arcade Ground, State Secretariat, Governorā€™s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. 


ā€œThis event will not only showcase our dedication to environmental sustainability but also our focus on innovative public-private partnerships that support the ā€˜Building Our Future Togetherā€™ agenda,ā€ the governor said.
