 New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. I wish Andy Burnham every success. Because we need a Prime Minister and a Government focused on fixing the public’s priorities,” she said.  GOVERNOR SANWO-OLU MOURNS SENATOR IFEANYI UBAH



Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu describes the death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah as shocking and a great loss to the country, his home State of Anambra and Lagos, where the deceased established most of his businesses.


The Governor describes the late Ifeanyi Ubah as an astute businessman and politician, who contributed his quota towards nation-building as representative of his people in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.


Governor Sanwo-Olu expresses his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, his friends, colleagues and associates, especially the good people of Anambra South on the loss of their illustrious son.


The Governor also commiserates with President of the Senate, Dr. Godswill Akpabio, all the distinguished Senators and the entire National Assembly and the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo, over the unfortunate demise of Senator Ubah.


He prays for the repose of the soul of the dead and for God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
