 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  Kentucky mom facing charges after forcing her 10-year-old daughter to stay in dog cage for days at a time.


Shelia Mann maintains her innocence and contends "it's all a misunderstanding". She stated she is in fact a victim after her daughter alleged extensive abuse to the investigators.


During an interview with detectives, the 10-year-old girl claimed her mother Shelia Mann had forced her to stay in a dog cage for days at a time. During the interview she also disclosed that her mother had threatened to  take her life and had placed her hands around her throat obstructing her breathing and causing her throat to be injured for days after the incident.


Mann is facing charges of unlawful imprisonment, strangulation and criminal abuse. The 10-year-old girl has been placed in the care of foster parents.
