OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police.  Newly Sworn-in Anambra West TC Chairman, Nnazor, Vows to Support Gov Soludo's Vision

The new Transition Committee Chairman,  Anambra West LGA Mr Fidelis Nnazor has promised to align his administration with the vision of the state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo.


Speaking shortly after his inauguration in Awka, Mr. Nnazor thanked God for making the event a successful one, promised to uphold the values of transparency, accountability, and good governance.


Mr. Nnazor highlighted his plans to prioritize the needs of ndi Anambra, expressed his commitment to key into the vision of the state governor, pledging to work diligently towards the development and progress of Anambra West Local Council.


He disclosed that his administration would run an all-inclusive government in line with the mantra of  "Onye Aghana Nwanne Ya" of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), to ensure that Anambra West was not left out in the transformative agenda of the state government.


The new Anambra West Mayor who thanked Mr. Governor for finding him worthy to serve, and equally contribute his quota towards the development of the local council, appealed for unalloyed support from ndi Anambra West to succeed in the onerous task.


Mr. Nnazor further assured Anambra West APGA of good cordial relationship to increase the party's numerical strength in the council to ensure that Governor Soludo is re-elected for the good work to continue.


The inauguration ceremony was attended by government officials, traditional rulers, party stakeholders, community leaders, and residents of Anambra West, who expressed optimism on the new administration and its potential to bring positive change to the local council.
