 Malian army withdraws from key Tessalit military camp: sources Mali’s army and its Russian mercenary allies have surrendered Camp Tessalit, a strategic military post in the north, multiple sources told the AFP news agency on Friday. An official from the Tuareg-led separatist group claimed soldiers and mercenaries at the camp had "surrendered", following a fierce fight over the weekend. Simultaneous attacks in Mali by militants linked to Al Qaeda and separatist Tuareg rebels on April 25 showed how fighters ​from different groups with different goals were able to strike at the heart of the West African country's military government. Gunfire and explosions were reported in the capital Bamako and around a large military base outside the capital, as well as Gao and central areas, as gunfire continuing in the northern city of Kidal.  Palestinians forced to flee as Israel pushes into Gaza’s cities..


The UN agency for Palestinian refugees says 86 percent of the Gaza Strip is currently under evacuation orders.  Thousands of Palestinians have been forced from their homes as Israeli forces mount a renewed push into densely populated cities in southern and central Gaza..


Residents said on Sunday that fierce fighting could be heard in eastern areas of the southern city of Khan Younis, where the Israeli army was operating. The attacks pushed thousands of families to leave their homes and head to overcrowded areas in al-Mawasi to the west or Deir el-Balah to the north..


Gaza’s health officials said military strikes had killed 66 Palestinians across the enclave in the past 24 hours as Israeli tanks pushed deeper into the towns of al-Karara (Kissufuim), az-Zanna, and Bani Suheila, in the east of the city..
