 PRESS RELEASE MINISTER OF INFORMATION LEADS HEADS OF AGENCIES TO BROADCASTERS CONFERENCE IN LAS VEGAS In an effort to strengthen broadcast collaborations and form strategic alliances, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris fnipr, has led a delegation of heads of government agencies to the 2025 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference and Workshop in Las Vegas, USA. The NAB event, running from April 5 to 9, carries the theme “The Technology, The Trend, The Future” and will cover a range of topics, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud visualization, the creator economy, and sports production and streaming. Sharks off the coast of Brazil have tested positive for cocaine, scientists say.


Marine biologists tested 13 Brazilian sharpnose sharks taken from the shores near Rio de Janeiro and found they tested for high levels of cocaine in their muscles and livers.


The concentrations were as much as 100 times higher than previously reported for other aquatic creatures.


The research, carried out by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, is the first to find the presence of cocaine in sharks.


Experts believe the cocaine is making its way into the waters via illegal labs where the drug is manufactured or through excrement of drug users.


Packs of cocaine lost or dumped by traffickers at sea could also be a source, though this is less likely, researchers say.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
