 How Bobrisky smuggled ATMs into Kirikiri, paid N35m to live large — Kirikiri Baale Fresh controversy has trailed the recent incarceration of popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, as a traditional ruler in Lagos has accused officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service of aiding the socialite’s alleged bribery scheme to secure VIP treatment during his stay in prison. The Baale of Kirikiri Town, Chief Babalola Shabi, popularly called “Baale No-Nonsense,” alleged that Bobrisky smuggled eight Automated Teller Machine cards into the Kirikiri custodial facility and used them to funnel a total of N35 million through Point of Sale operators in the area — reportedly to grease the palms of prison officials for preferential treatment.  Southern Senators forum condemn Borno Blast


The Nigerian Southern Senators Forum has strongly condemned the heinous suicide bombing attacks that took place in Tashan Mararaba, Gwoza town, Borno State on Saturday 22nd June, 2024 bomb.

Recall that the unfortunate incident claimed the lives of at least 18 persons and injured numerous others.


The Senators Forum at the end of it's meeting in Abuja, Monday, expressed deep shock and sadness at the barbaric attack, expressing condolences and prayers with the victims, their families, and the entire community affected by this senseless act of violence. 


According to a communique issued and signed at the end of the meeting by  Chairman, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, the forum maintained that the heinous acts of terrorism are a stark reminder of the persistent security challenges facing the nation adding that, the despicable act once again highlights the urgent need for a collective, collaborative and robust response to terrorism in our country. 


The forum called on the federal government and all security agencies to intensify their efforts in combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians saying, those responsible for this atrocity must be swiftly brought to justice. 

It commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s swift condemnation of the attacks and the resolve of his administration to bring the perpetrators to book, as well as the re-assurance to continue to secure the lives and properties of citizens.


The Southern Senators Forum extended its deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
