 Troops Rescue 10 Kidnap Victims, Recover Weapons, Cash In Kaduna Troops of Sector 5 under Operation Peace Shield have rescued 10 kidnapped victims and recovered arms, ammunition and ransom money in a successful operation in Kaduna State. The rescue followed the abduction of several women from their farms in Ungwan Nungu, Sanga Local Government Area, on 29 November 2025. Security forces launched an immediate search-and-rescue mission to track the kidnappers. According to military authorities, the breakthrough came at about 6:40 a.m. on 5 December 2025, when troops intercepted the kidnappers during an attempted ransom collection. The armed group reportedly came under heavy fire, forcing them to flee into the surrounding forest and abandon the hostages.  Southern Senators forum condemn Borno Blast


The Nigerian Southern Senators Forum has strongly condemned the heinous suicide bombing attacks that took place in Tashan Mararaba, Gwoza town, Borno State on Saturday 22nd June, 2024 bomb.

Recall that the unfortunate incident claimed the lives of at least 18 persons and injured numerous others.


The Senators Forum at the end of it's meeting in Abuja, Monday, expressed deep shock and sadness at the barbaric attack, expressing condolences and prayers with the victims, their families, and the entire community affected by this senseless act of violence. 


According to a communique issued and signed at the end of the meeting by  Chairman, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, the forum maintained that the heinous acts of terrorism are a stark reminder of the persistent security challenges facing the nation adding that, the despicable act once again highlights the urgent need for a collective, collaborative and robust response to terrorism in our country. 


The forum called on the federal government and all security agencies to intensify their efforts in combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians saying, those responsible for this atrocity must be swiftly brought to justice. 

It commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s swift condemnation of the attacks and the resolve of his administration to bring the perpetrators to book, as well as the re-assurance to continue to secure the lives and properties of citizens.


The Southern Senators Forum extended its deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
