 Malian army withdraws from key Tessalit military camp: sources Mali’s army and its Russian mercenary allies have surrendered Camp Tessalit, a strategic military post in the north, multiple sources told the AFP news agency on Friday. An official from the Tuareg-led separatist group claimed soldiers and mercenaries at the camp had "surrendered", following a fierce fight over the weekend. Simultaneous attacks in Mali by militants linked to Al Qaeda and separatist Tuareg rebels on April 25 showed how fighters ​from different groups with different goals were able to strike at the heart of the West African country's military government. Gunfire and explosions were reported in the capital Bamako and around a large military base outside the capital, as well as Gao and central areas, as gunfire continuing in the northern city of Kidal.  Ten-man Uruguay kick Brazil out of Copa America


A 10-man Uruguay kicked fumbling Brazil out of Copa America early Sunday, winning 4-2 on penalties to move into the semi-finals.

The star-studded Brazil had been fumbling since the tournament began, churning out a disappointing draw against lowly Costa Rica before beating Paraguay 4-1 and churned out another disappointing 1-1 draw against Colombia.

Brazil were expected to make amend against Uruguay, but they fumbled even when they had to play Uruguay down to 10 men from the 74th minute till extra time was over.

The match had ended goalless after extra time and Uruguay triumph 4-2 on penalties against the Brazil, who are also struggling in their World Cup qualifying.

Earlier in the 35th minute, Raphinha had time and space inside the box after picking up a neat pass, but his shot towards the middle of the goal was easily saved by Sergio Rochet.

In the 74th minute the referee issued a straight red card to Nahitan Nandez, bring Uruguay to 10-man, but Brazil did not capitalise on this to score.
