CBN DEBUNKS FAKE NEWS ON NEW N5,000 AND N10,000 BANKNOTES.(PHOTO).

  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms. TENNESSEE GAS STATION CLERK ARRESTED AFTER IT IS REVEALED HE STOLE A $1M WINNING LOTTO TICKET FROM CUSTOMER. (PHOTO).


 Tennessee gas station clerk arrested after it is revealed he stole a 1 million dollar winning lotto ticket from customer. 


According to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department, 23-year-old Meer Patel has been arrested after he mislead a customer about a life-changing lottery ticket.


Reports indicate the victim brought 2 tickets to the gas station and gave them to Patel to check. Video surveillance gathered after the fact shows Patel paying out a sum of money on the first ticket and throwing the 1 million dollar winner in the trash.


After the victim left the store, video shows Patel dig the ticket out of the trash and celebrate after confirming it was indeed a winner.


Patel then tried to claim the prize from the Tennessee Lottery. Lottery officials were instantly suspicious and launched an investigation which quickly uncovered Patel's deceit.


The victim who never even knew he was a million dollar winner was then contacted and made aware of his life-changing windfall. His identity is not being released, however the victim (a father of young children) is extremely grateful that someone was looking out for him.


Patel is being charged with theft over  $250,000 dollars and is being held on  $100,000 bond awaiting his court appearance on July 30th.
