Wike Fires Back at Senator Ireti Kingibe: “I challenge you, if you’re popular in 2027, come and run under Abuja

In a heated exchange, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has responded sharply to comments made by Senator Ireti Kingibe of the Labour Party. Wike’s remarks were direct and provocative, challenging Kingibe’s popularity and political prospects.

“If you’re angry, go and hang yourselves on a transformer!,” Wike declared. “I challenge you, if you’re popular in 2027, come and run under Abuja, we’ll fail you.”

The minister’s comments were in response to criticism from Senator Kingibe, reflecting ongoing political tensions. Wike’s statement has sparked a flurry of reactions from political observers and the general public, highlighting the fierce rivalry and contentious atmosphere in Abuja’s political landscape.

Senator Ireti Kingibe has yet to respond to Wike’s challenge. As the political climate heats up ahead of the 2027 elections, such exchanges indicate the high stakes and intense competition among key players in Nigeria’s capital.
