  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. A HIGWAY PATROL OFFICER ARRESTED AFTER STEALING GRAPHIC IMAGES FROM PEOPLE HE HAD DETAINED. (PHOTO).

 A Missouri Highway Patrol Officer was just arrested after stealing graphic images from people he had detained.


39-year-old David McKnight is being charged with 5 felony counts of invasion of privacy. 

Court documents filed against McKnight allege between September 2023 and April 2024 he used his personal cell phone to take pictures of images on the cellphones of women he had detained. 


The images consisted of images of 5 different women partially and fully unclothed. 


Officer McKnight was arrested Wednesday night in Scott County. There are no additional details on McKnight's status as a defendant in the courts at this time.


Individuals are urged to make sure any sensitive photographs are secured so others cannot easily access them, such as in a camera roll.
