 COURT RESTRAINS RESIDENT DOCTORS FROM EMBARKING ON STRIKE  The national industrial court Abuja division has restrained all members and agents of the national association of resident doctors from calling, directing, organizing, participating in, and embarking upon any form of industrial action.  Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim gave the order in an interim injunction filed by the federal government through the office of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice.  The court temporally barred members of the association from embarking on any form of strike, work stoppages, go-slows, picketing, or any other form of industrial protest or disruption. The association is equally restrained from taking steps preparatory to any form of industrial action from the 12th day of january, 2026. A MOTHER AND HER FIVE CHILDREN DIED AFTER EATING DANWAKE IN KANO. (PHOTO).

 A mother and her five children have lost their lives after eating Danwake, a local Hausa delicacy in Karkari village, Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State. 


 

The incident occurred at late Malam Abdulkarin house, on Thursday, August 15.

 

A neighbour, Garba Muhammad told Daily Trust that due to economic hardship and hunger, the widow who was the one catering for her five children used an expired cassava flour to prepare the food.

 

“Eating the food led to the d£ath of the six members of the family, including the mother," the source said. 

 

Those who lost their lives include Alhakatu Abdulkarim and her five children; Bashir, Firdausi, Hafsat, Usman and Jamilu.

 

The spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who confirmed the incident on Saturday, August 17, said six members of the family who ate the food were rushed to Gwarzo General Hospital where they were confirmed d£ad by doctors

 

Kiyawa added that investigation had commenced to ascertain the cause of their d£ath..

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity.
