 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. CRIME: Apprehension of 21-Year-Old Orchestrating Fake Robbery to Sell Tricycle, Set to Face Court


On August 20, 2024, the police operatives at 'C' Police Divisional headquarters took action and successfully arrested four individuals involved in a criminal conspiracy and attempted misappropriation of a tricycle.


The tricycle, with registration number BAU 401 WB and body number 3566, was discovered in suspicious circumstances at Madina Quarters and reported to the 'C' Divisional Police Headquarters. Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer promptly led a team to the scene and apprehended four young men who were found attempting to dismantle and steal the tricycle.


Upon further investigation, it was uncovered that the prime suspect, Muwafaqa Auwal, 21 years old, had conspired to fake a robbery of the tricycle. He had been entrusted with the tricycle by a neighbour for commercial use within the metropolitan area, but instead of honouring the agreement, he planned to stage a robbery and sell the tricycle.


The Bauchi State Police Command is committed to upholding law and order in the state and urges the public to collaborate with the command by reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
