 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration.  Borno commissioner dies in his room


The Commissioner for Finance in Borno State, Ahmed Ali Ahmed, is dead.


Details of his death are still sketchy, but sources familiar with the incident told our correspondent that the commissioner died inside his room on Monday morning.


The deceased was said to have exceeded the time he usually comes out in the morning.


His door was then forced open where his corpse was found.


“Oga is no more, he died early this morning,” the source told Daily Trust.


Borno State Government wishes to announce the death of Ahmed Ali Ahmed, the State Commissioner of Finance.


The statement from the Commissioner of Information and Internal Security, Professor Usman Tar, in Maiduguri indicates that the burial is slated for 5:00 p.m. today at the family house of the late commissioner in Damboa Road behind Indimi’s residence.


In a statement, Borno State Government confirmed the death of Ahmed.
